Colposcopy Picture
A colposcopy picture may be used to enhance viewing the surface area during cryotherapy for hpv abnormal cellular removal.
A doctor can then view these cells with a colposcope during this exam. The cells samples that are then taken and sent to a lab, will look dysplastic or abnormal in structure when viewed under a microscope. Depending on the amount of abnormality a treatment can then be recommended.

A normal, healthy cervix is pink in color and surface area will be one constant color. When cervical dysplasia is present the abnormal cells will appear white in color compared to the rest of the normal tissue, when an acid solution is put on the cervix.
