Colposcopy And Biopsy
Colposcopy and biopsy procedure is recommended for diagnostics of positive ASCUS Pap that may develop into cervical cancer and will include abnormal vaginal discharge.
There are several kinds of biopsies.
This is the only way to tell for certain if you have pre-cancer, true cancer, or neither. Sometimes this procedure itself can be used to treat pre-cancers or very early cancers. It usually takes 15-30 min.

In this test the doctor looks at the cervix through an instrument called a colposcope. The exam is not painful and has no side effects. It can be done even if the patient is pregnant. If there are abnormal cells on the cervix, the doctor will order other tests.
