After Biopsy Cone Pregnancy
After biopsy (cone), pregnancy may be affected by a possibly weakened cervix, or infections that can be detedted with a colposcopy such as the HPV penile wart viruses.
In about 10% of cervical conization, women will develop stenosis, narrowing or closing of the cervical canal which can cause infertility, or an incompetent cervix, which is a weak cervix that may not be able to carry a baby to full term without being stitched shut until delivery begins.
