Cervical Cryosurgery

Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy may be used for vaginal dysplasia. During this time of healing the cervix is susceptible to infection, so the patient should refrain from intercourse, douching, or wearing tampons for up to 4 weeks. A pad can be worn for the discharge until the healing process is over. Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy may be used for vaginal dysplasia.

Cryotherapy, Vaginal Dysplasia

When a Pap smear shows abnormal cells on the cervix, a common treatment is to kill the abnormal cells by freezing the area using a cryoprobe. The cells that have been frozen will be discharged out of the body by a watery discharge that last about 2-4 weeks. Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy may be used for vaginal dysplasia.
