Leep Loop
A leep loop procedure rarely leads to miscarriage and other complications; Pap smear and colposcopy are done prior to such operation.
This procedure may be done during the initial colposcopy exam. It can treat and diagnose cervical dysplasia at the same time, often replacing biopsy. Another name for "LLETZ" or "LEEP," the procedure for removing abnormal areas of the cervix for examination.

The operation is usually done under local or general anesthesia and causes little discomfort, though some bleeding and itching afterwards is possible. The removed tissue is send to the laboratory. During the procedure, a fine wire with electrical energy flowing through it is used.
