Cervix Leep
For abnormal conditions of the cervix leep is a surgical process which permits further diagnostics and therapy for dyplasia caused by HPV and detected on a Pap smear.
This procedure consists of removing the abnormal cells by cutting away the tissue containing the dysplasia with an electric wire loop. It takes about 3-4 weeks for the cervical area to heal. Most women find the procedure to be painless, with some experiencing a slight increase in body temperature.

HPV, Pap Smear
Millions of women a year have abnormal Paps smears due to cervical dysplasia. Dysplasia is a symptom of certain strains of the Human Papillomavirus, HPV, that is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact during intercourse. A common treatment for dysplasia is called a loop electrosurgical excision procedure. For abnormal conditions of the cervix leep is a surgical process which permits further diagnostics and therapy for dyplasia caused by HPV and detected on a Pap smear.
