Leep Recovery
With the procedure called the leep, recovery from this test to determine the level of ASCUS is usually about a veek or more and is usually an alternative to cryosurgery.
The doctor applies a local anesthetic to the cervix of the patient. It helps reduce bleeding. A colposcope is used to look closely at the area with the abnormal cells to be removed. This procedure is usually performed in the doctor's office. It is also known as a Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. It is recommended to patients who need their abnormal tissue removed from the cervix. The procedure looks like an ordinary pelvic exam and does not take longer than 20-30 minutes on the whole.
